| YAC Serves Young Alums, Creates Scholarship for “Engaging” Students CATCH ASIA RAU if you can. The 1997 ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ graduate is the fast-moving events and fund-raising coordinator for the University of Washington Alumni Association. But a schedule that might tire most people only builds a fire under Rau. She is also president of the SPU Alumni Association’s Young Alumni Council (YAC). "The more than 7,600 SPU alumni within 10 years of graduation have a lot of energy, and many still live in the Seattle area,” says Rau. “We want to keep them in touch with the University and to provide services and programs geared especially for them. To do this, we want young alumni to let us know what they want.” She notes, for instance, that the Seattle Pacific Career Development Center is available to assist people with information about job searches — even 10 years after graduation.
