| Explore “Heroes of the Faith” at Casey Weekend’s Alumni College 2004               WOULDN’T IT BE NICE to go to an island retreat and
              listen to learned professors of history, literature and religion
              speak passionately about heroes of the faith  greats such as the
              devout evangelical William Wilber-force, one of the leaders of
              the British anti-slave trade movement; or John Newton, slave trader-turned-minister
              who wrote the beloved hymn “Amazing Grace”; or Elizabeth Barrett
              Browning, whose passion for poetry and social justice was fueled
            by her Christian faith? What sounds idyllic for those who miss the
              classroom is possible this summer at Casey Conference Center on
              Whidbey Island. Alumni College 2004, “Heroes of the Faith,” is
              a special feature of the annual ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ Casey
            Weekend for alumni, family and friends August 20–22.  This year’s
            program features the following four masters of their subjects: 
               Colin
                Greene, dean of the School of Theology, will speak on “William
              Wilberforce: Man of Freedom.”George Scranton, professor of
              theatre, will dramatize aspects of the life of Wilberforce.William
                Woodward, professor of history, will speak on “John Newton: Amazing
              Grace.”Chris
                Chaney, assistant professor of English, will lecture on “Writers
              of Faith: 19th-Century Poets.”  The Alumni Choir, a youth basketball
                  clinic with former Falcon Head Coach Ken Bone, and the ever-succulent
                  traditional salmon barbecue are among a long list of other
