  Integrity and Beyond
 The celebrated author of Integrity and Civility, 
            Stephen Carter spoke at SPU in honor of a new center created to foster 
            Christian scholarship. Read excerpts from his address about character 
            in America.
 
 SPU Kicks Off Its Largest-Ever 
              CampaignAfter three years in a quiet phase, Seattle Pacific's $52.85 million 
              fund-raising campaign went public in October. Already, the University 
              has reached 60 percent of its goal.
  It's About Character"We need character in this country in the most urgent way," 
              says Campaign Chair Bruce Walker. A local businessman, he supports 
              SPU because of its vision and the quality of its students.
  Campaign Initiatives 
              Position SPU for the FutureThe Campaign for Seattle Pacific consists of four specific initiatives 
              — including a new science building — that will help 
              the University achieve its vision for engaging the culture with 
              the Christian gospel.
  A Mighty Symphony of 
              IdeasAssistant Professor of English Christine Chaney introduces new readers 
              to Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov, what she calls 
              the magnum opus of the University Scholars program at SPU.
 
 Live From Taiwan
 Known as Teacher Peng, alumna Doris Brougham has broadcast throughout 
              Asia for more than 40 years. "If you give God your life," 
              she explains, "you don't know what he's going to do with it."

              at SPU, talks about using his retirement to champion the causes in
