What is something you wish everyone knew about your major? As an electrical engineer, I wish more people knew how broad of a career field it is. So many people have asked me what an electrical engineer does, and it is impossible for me to give an answer because there are so many branches of electrical engineering.

What was your most impactful class or professor? My most impactful professor was Dr. Yuri Rodrigues. He made us appreciate the beauty of electricity and power, but more importantly, he showed how valuable each and every one of his students was. The welcoming environment within his classes allows each student to be more personal and as a result, we are able to grow stronger bonds with each other.

I took the Art of Film class during my study abroad quarter in Paris, France. Definitely one of my most memorable experiences, not only at SPU, but of my life.

What advice do you have for incoming students? My advice for incoming students is to not be afraid of asking older students for help or advice. The culture of kindness at SPU really shines. Everyone is willing to help you in any way they can. All it takes is to reach out.
