What is something you wish everyone knew about your major? Something I wish everyone knew about majoring in psychology is how supportive, helpful, and encouraging all of the psychology majors and professors are. All of the people within the psychology department have made my time at SPU all the more memorable and rewarding.

What was your most impactful class or professor? I have genuinely enjoyed all of my major-related classes and have grown in my appreciation and learning for psychology through the influence of my professors. If I had to pick only one class or professor, I would pick Advanced Research Methods with Dr. Tausen due to how much I grew during this course. This course was one of the most, if not the most, challenging I took during my undergraduate studies; however, it also benefited me the most and pushed me to continually grow in my curiosity, understanding, and overall academic endeavors.

What are you excited for in your future career? Looking into my future, I am most excited to grow in my knowledge by applying to and attending graduate school to eventually become a marriage and family counselor. I feel that SPU has set me up to excel in the professional world, and I cannot wait to begin applying all that I have learned.

What advice do you have for incoming students? I would advise incoming students to continue asking questions, not to feel afraid to reach out to classmates or professors, and to continue persevering. I also encourage students to read the syllabus and map out a plan or schedule in advance to be prepared and successful in all their classes.

How have you grown during your time at SPU? Besides advancing my education, I have grown in various ways at SPU. I have learned how to prioritize and manage my time more efficiently, advocate for my classmates and myself, and juggle different facets of life.
