What is something you wish everyone knew about your major? As a business administration major, I completed some of my required courses through Alba, a study abroad program in Barcelona, Spain. This program is an amazing opportunity for students in the School of Business, Economics, and Government and I highly recommend participating!!
What was your most impactful class or professor? My most impactful class would be international business with Profesora Espinet through Alba. Being able to take this course from a professor who is from another country and culture, while also being in a different country myself, was incredibly eye-opening. It gave me the opportunity to experience international business in a truly immersive way and gain valuable insight into Spain’s business culture.
My most impactful class at SPU would have to be entrepreneurship with Dr. Godek. He has so much knowledge and interesting experiences to share about starting and running a business. The guest speakers were all super helpful in gaining real world examples of successful entrepreneurs. Dr. Godek was amazing at guiding us through the creation of our business plans and I gained lots of insight from this class.
What are you excited for in your future career? I am excited to explore new areas of work and find what I am passionate about or find fulfillment in. I am also eager to develop new skills and finally apply the knowledge that I have learned throughout my time here at SPU!
What advice do you have for incoming students? My advice to other students would be to study abroad if you can! Living in another country and experiencing different cultures is so enriching and truly life changing. Also, college goes by so fast so cherish the time that you have now and make amazing memories!
How have you grown during your time at SPU? Over the past four years, I have gained a deeper understanding of myself and those around me. I was able to build resilience when facing challenges and continuously learned through new experiences. College has shown me the importance of creating opportunities for myself and the value of connecting with others.
