Mario Flores
Psychology Practicum Student • MA

Mario is a student at the University of Denver in the PsyD Clinical Psychology program. He was raised in Florida and moved to Colorado when he was in high school. Prior to his time at DU, Mario was the director of a first-gen program at CU, a middle school teacher in Denver, and an enlisted sailor in the Navy. Mario has provided services at an after-school non-profit for teens and at community mental health centers focused on families and military populations. He got his MA in Education and BA in Ethnic Studies from CU.

As a person with multiple marginalized identities, Mario recognizes the stress that can come from being a college student, particularly at a school like CU. He also recognizes that through community support and connection, college can be an exciting time of growth and exploration. Mario takes an integrative approach to working with students, focusing on relationship based approaches to support students on their personal journey.
