Seven inducted into SPU Athletics Hall of Fame
On Saturday, Feb. 7, past and present SPU athletes, coaches, and friends gathered in E.E. Bach Theatre to celebrate the 2026 Falcon Hall of Fame inductees — the first class to be honored since 2019. Emceed by FOX 13 sports personality Erin Mayovsky, the event drew nearly 200 attendees and brought the Falcon community together to recognize excellence across generations of SPU athletics.
“We are thrilled to resume adding former standout student-athletes into the Falcon Hall of Fame with this year’s induction ceremony on campus,” said SPU Athletics Director Dan Lepse. “Such a proud athletics history at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ provides an elite group from which to choose.”
“The Falcon Hall of Fame event exceeded our expectations,” added John Glancy ’70, EdD ’05, a 2017 Hall of Fame inductee and volunteer event organizer. “It was fun to see the inductees interact with each other on stage. Overall, the event succeeded in highlighting some shining stars from SPU’s storied athletic history.”
The ceremony was made possible in part by a generous gift from Professor Emeritus of Chemistry Wes Lindgren, a former tennis coach and 2006 Hall of Fame inductee. Former sports information director Frank MacDonald also played a key role in planning the event and securing the evening’s emcee.
